You know I happen to know quite a bit about this situation and honestly everyone is to blame. Noone should be exempt from prosecution whether legal or just in life. Cheryl is a pill popper with some serious psychological issues that has affected all her children, a 20 yr. old boy doesn’t have all that stable of a background to even consider doing this let alone follow through with it. And as far as Scott goes I mean he is twice Dereks age and is dating his former stepdaughter, again look at the psychological profile, the home life in Byfield was a disaster waiting to happen, I mean all of the children in this clan have been exposed to drugs and alcohol ad domestic violence and emotional abuse since they were infants. A very valid point is where is dad in all of this? No courtroom appearance, this is such a tragedy and a reflection of society in general. I have alot of contact with families in Lynn and this trend is growing and their are so many casualties along the way. As far as David King goes he may not have been a bad man in the public facade but behind closed doors is another story, which will no doubt come to light when the facts of this case start to surface. Did the sister/girlfriend know, of course she did, I mean the comment earlier about someone in your family committing a crime makes you guilty is ludicrous, but she lived with both of these men, has known them both her whole life, she was trusted. And as far as Derek goes, I think of everyone he was influenced the most, a slightly troubled kid trying to do his best but surrounded by negativity and hardcore life issues. Should he punished, yes, but so should his mom, his dad, his sister, Scott, and the rest of the lot. People need to step the hell up and take care of their children, if you cant handle tham dont friggin have them and Derek may have the rest of his life ruined because he was never taught right from wrong, its a shame
